Mysterious Hot Guys

Chapter 11
-Fight fire with Fire-

Sleep avoided you at all costs that night. You lay on your bed with your eyes wide open and the events of the day played out in your mind over and over as though you had set a video on loop. Berwald handing you the sparkling water, Tino taking you out of time, Lukas rescuing you before you were hit by a granddad that clearly couldn't drive, no matter how attractive he was for his age, all swam around your thoughts.

You heaved out a hefty sigh and rolled onto your side and stared at your phone that lit up on the nearest surface. The white light from the screen signalled that you had a new message, but as you glanced at the clock you realised that it could only be one person texting you at half two in the morning. You flung your hand out of the covers and scooped up the slim device. Like you had assumed, the '1 new message' was from that loveable odd ball; Feliks.

'What does he want at this time of night? Oh, maybe he found out about the transfer guys having freaky powers!' you thought as you opened the message and let your tired eyes scan over it. The bright light didn't really burn your poor orbs as much as you thought it would, so you could read the words with ease.

"WHOA! Like, did u just hear that thunder? It nearly made me wet my fabulous sparkly pants!"

You arched a brow and flipped the phone over before burying it into your pillow to hide the dim beam. You pinched the top of your nose and screwed up your eyes. You hadn't heard any thunder, and if it was loud and tremendous enough to make Feliks almost have bladder issues then you are sure you would have heard that rumble-

     CRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASHHHHHHHH

Startled, you jumped up slipped out of your bed. You banged your head against the frame of it and your butt landed harshly on the floor while your limbs decided to get intimate with your duvet and tangle you up in it. You quickly gathered up your plush duvet and cuddled it like it was a teddy bear or some form of comfort blanket.

Your eyes glistened as a flash of white, elegantly and swiftly danced between the black clouds before flooding your room, all in a brief second or two. The storm must have been right over your head. You had suspected there would be a thunder storm because of the heat waves spreading over the area, but you didn't realize it would be such a terrifying and dry one.

There was no time to gather you bearings either, as another rumble of drumming mercilessly murdered the silence and another lightning bolt pierced through the darkness. However, this bolt did not stay in the comfort of the clouds, and instead dived down into your garden, making a tree burst into flames. The bark and leaves were so dry from the lack of rain that the blazed was fuelled quickly so it could spread.

You wanted to shout out for help in an attempt to wake up your family if they hadn't already been dragged from their slumber by the horrifying sounds, but you could barely utter gasps. The fire spat and cackled at you as you crawled to your window and stared out of it with eyes that quivered and reflected the orange glow. You mentally slapped yourself as you stumbled back over to your bed to grab your phone to call the emergency services, but to your dismay your phone had disappeared.

It must have dropped off of the bed when you did. You quickly fell to your knees and felt around the shadows for it, but could only find it when lightning assisted you with its shine. With fingers that trembled, you tried to tap in the three digits as a family member burst into your room and in a panicked voice told you to "GET OUT NOW!"

It was too late. A large tree that had been struck, by the same streak of lightning that helped you find your phone, had broken and fell straight into your room. Its claw-like branches, slowly turning to ash, reached out helplessly towards you and the holes in the body of the tree made it look like nature was crying from the pain that was scaring it and consuming its colour.

The roof had smashed down and separated you from whatever family member had come to warn you. For all you know, that person could be lying dead and crushed behind the rubble of your once grand roof. Everything around you heated up and the fire spread as though it was a virus. The clouds still hadn't given you rain either, so you hugged your knees and watched everything disintegrate into dust around you.

You looked up desperately at the sky that seemed to line the next bolt perfectly up with you. It was as though the storm was deliberately targeting you, although you knew that something like that was impossible. Or perhaps not after the experience Tino had put you through. As thunder roared and the lightning shot itself at you, you cradled your body tighter and braced yourself.

Fire met fire. You opened your eyes when you didn't feel anything accept from the scolding heat from the blazes around you. You looked up and saw the back of a tall man with gravity-defying blonde hair and a huge axe resting in his grasp. He glanced over his shoulder and gave you a cocky grin and you saw a twinkle in his rich blue eyes.

     It was Mathias.

"M-Mathias… what are you doing here-?"

"I already know Tino has told you about us. He let it slip when he got home before Lukas did. He's lucky Lukas doesn't directly know that he let loose our biggest secret, but I have a feeling he sort of knows Tino's done somethin'. As you know, our powers have been given to us to protect people and to keep the peace. I can't just stand by and watch Thor rip apart your house and your family." As he said that he began to spin his axe. It took a moment or two before it was at full speed and what swung from the blade was a yellow flash that countered an oncoming bolt. He was fighting off the lightening with lightening. Unbelievable!

"Won't Lukas be mad that you're showing me your power?!" You shouted, dodging some embers that were swept your way by the wind.

Mathias walked over to you and crouched down until he was on one knee. He placed a hand on your cheek and his smile faded from being toothy and cocky to one of care and concern. He used his thumb to brush some ash off of your skin and his nose was soon inches away from your own. It may have been the surrounding heat, but you were certainly getting hot under the collar of your night clothes!

"If Lukas was here, he'd be doing exactly the same thing, though he wouldn't admit he was doing it to save you and he would probably make up some obscure excuse to hide his abilities behind." He poked the tip of your nose before he straightened up and threw more light against the sky's rage. It wasn't just you he was protecting though; he was protecting everyone who was endangered by the fierce storm.

"How did you get up here anyway!?" You suddenly asked as the storm slowly subsided.

He pointed to the tree that had made its way into your room. It led from your floor to the ground outside. "It makes a good bridge, you should keep it." He grinned and his axe began to glow. It suddenly dissolved into little particles and swooped around his wrist, forming a somewhat tacky bracelet. Wait, 'tacky bracelet'?! That was the accessory Feliks had mentioned he saw Mathias wear and be protective about! You had no idea such a thing would be able to summon such a reckless axe that shot lightning lasers or whatever.

The Dane was about to escape down the burning tree as the fire department showed up to dampen what was burning. You hadn't even noticed your precious memories capture in photographs had been lost forever, because you were simply too busy being in awe of the tall blonde. "Mathias!" You stopped him and he turned back. "Now that I know your secrets… do you really have to avoid me any more?"

"Hmmm… I guess not, but we'll see how it goes. It would be a shame if I didn't get to see such a pretty face more often." He winked at you and jumped off the tree. "I would climb down that too now if you don't want to get incinerated!" He warned before he ran off into the morning's horizon.

You glared at the flames coming onto you and decided to make a run for it before the hosepipe was turned on.

Chapter Over View-
Thunderstorms normally come after a heat wave, but none had ever before come like this... Luck is on your side though, as a Danish hero comes to your rescue.

Author Note
GIVE ME YOUR THOUGHTS ON THIS CHAPTER~! Maaaaaaaaan Denmark made a bigger sort of appearance... as in he actually did something. I'm sorry if this sucks so bad T_T By the way, do you think your family member is dead or alive? I just want to know what you guys are assuming.

Who do YOU date?
Read the chapters, and eventually this question will be answered. I guess I can tell you now that you will have some sort of 'date' with each of the Nordics, but at the end-... well, you're just going to have to read on until I reach the end, won't you?
